Patagonia is a sparsely populated region at the southern end of South America, shared by Chile and Argentina. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes, numerous National Parks with glaciers and fjords in the west and steppes to the east. Patagonia is bounded by the Pacific Ocean in the west and the Atlantic in the east and by many bodies of water that connect both oceans , such as the Strait of Magellan and the Beagle Channel in the south.
